Mt. Elbrus

Mt. Elbrus is the highest peak in Europe.  After summiting Mt.Rainier in 2009, I knew that I wanted to try something that would challenge me physically and also test my resilience on a longer climb.  Mt. Elbrus in Russia seemed like a good choice.  Like Rainier, it is a volcano; unlike Rainier, it is located deep in the Caucasus mountains near Russia's border with Georgia.
